Impaired driving charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, shortly after 11 a.m. police responded to the report of a suspicious person in a vehicle parked in downtown Chatham.
Officers located the vehicle and through investigation believed the man was driving while under the influence of a drug.
The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters where a Drug Recognition Expert conducted an evaluation.
As a result, the DRE officer believed the man was impaired by a drug.
Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
A 51-year-old Chatham man was charged with impaired driving, driving while prohibited and two counts of drug possession.
He was released pending a future court date of March 11, 2021.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, around 6:30 p.m. police responded to the report of a possible impaired driver on Sandys Street in Chatham.
Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.
Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence of a drug.
The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters where a Drug Recognition Expert conducted an evaluation.
As a result, the DRE officer believed the man was impaired by a drug.
The man was also arrested in connection with a fraud related investigation.
A 29-year-old Chatham man was charged with impaired driving and several fraud related offences.
He was released pending a future court date of March 17, 2021.
Executed warrants
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, a man wanted for property related offences and failing to comply with his Probation Order was located in Sarnia.
A 43-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and released pending a future court date of March 10, 2021.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police arrested a woman who was wanted for assault, cause disturbance and committing an indecent act.
A 35-year-old woman, of no fixed address, was released pending a future court date of March 10, 2021.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Late yesterday afternoon, police located a man in Tilbury who was wanted for fraud related offences.
A 30-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and released pending a future court date of March 9, 2021.
Break and enter in Chatham
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Saturday night at 6 p.m. and Sunday morning at 10 a.m. unknown suspects forced their way into Stirling Variety, causing about $500 damage.
Once inside, the suspects stole cigarettes, lighters and lottery tickets.
Total value of the theft has been estimated at $3,000.

Stolen truck in Chatham Township
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. and Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. unknown suspects stole a dark grey 2004 Chevrolet Silverado from a residence on Darrell Line.
The truck was last seen with Pennsylvania license plates YYZ9 300.
