Second shipment of COVID-19 vaccine administered across Chatham-Kent

The second shipment of COVID-19 has been administered in Chatham-Kent.

Over the past weekend, staff from CK Public Health and Chatham-Kent EMS continued work to vaccinate residents of long-term care homes and ‘high risk’ retirement homes across Chatham-Kent, Jeff Moco, a spokesperson for CK Public Health, told the Sydenham Current.

“The teams were deployed to all corners of Chatham-Kent and vaccinated facilities located in Blenheim, Chatham, Ridgetown, Tilbury and Wallaceburg,” Moco said in an email.

“The second shipment of vaccine that arrived this past Friday is enough to complete the first round of vaccinations for the first priority group of residents outlined above.”

Moco added: “Fairfield Park will not receive vaccine until permitted to do so, based on Provincial Guidelines for homes in outbreak.”

Moco said for more information about the guidelines for long-term care homes in outbreak, click here.

“In terms of the total number of doses administered, we will be providing those details as part of the Thursday status update as we compile the data,” Moco said.

After the first shipment of COVID-19 vaccine in Chatham-Kent, a total of 404 doses were administered.
