Food donations being accepted on Canada’s Agriculture Day

Canada’s Agriculture Day in 2021 is today, Tuesday, February 23, and it is a day to celebrate the business of Canadian agriculture.

Kent Federation of Agriculture (KFA) officials say this is an opportunity for producers to share their pride and help consumers draw a closer connection to where their food comes from and the people who produce it.

Each year the KFA and the community celebrates this day in a special way, KFA officials say.

“The KFA is again coordinating local food donations to both The Salvation Army and Outreach for Hunger in Chatham-Kent this year,” KFA officials said in a media release.

“Monetary donations will be put towards food products for both organizations. Everyone is welcome to participate by donating to the local Salvation Army or Outreach for Hunger in Chatham-Kent.”

Curbside donations will be accepted at the Salvation Army, 46 Orangewood Blvd. in Chatham, on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

“Please note – due to COVID-19 restrictions participation on site is limited and all safety protocols will be in place,” KFA officials say.
