Gordon Van Dommelen

Peacefully and gently surrounded by his children during his last few days of his life, Gordon Van Dommelen left us to join his heavenly family on Monday, June 14, 2021 at CKHA.

He will be deeply missed here on earth in our hearts and minds by all who knew him as we give thanks for his life.

Gordon reunited with his loving wife Catherine Van Dommelen (2007) in heaven to be together for eternity.

Gordon is survived by his five children Diane (Julius) Pozsgai, Mary (Paul) Caron, Janice (Dan) Mandeville, Stephen Van Dommelen, Laurel Van Dommelen.

Grandfather of Caroline, Renee, Elizabeth, Kristopher, Katelyn and the late Jonathan (2020)(Mary Jane) and great grandfather of Maria-Theresa, Victoria, Alexandria, Mackenzie, Anderson, Leah, Bryce, Mason, Emma, Scarlett and the late Lincoln (2015).

Gordon was predeceased by his parents Albert and Annie (Seys) Van Dommelen and brother Elmer (Estella).

He is survived by his brother John (Cathie).

Gordon was a long-standing member of the Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church.

He lived his whole life on the Arnold Road Family Farm.

He was a true farmer at heart even until the end when he was legally blind he still wanted to be driven by the fields to check on the crops.

Family and friends are invited for visitation at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 4-8 PM.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, A private Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Friday, June 18th, 2021.

If desired, donations in Gordon’s memory to ACWAM- Child Sponsorship or Right to Life Kent – Refuge Pregnancy Resource Centre may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231.
