First-dose only walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic scheduled, free shuttles available

CK Public Health will be running a COVID-19 vaccination walk-in clinic for those who have not yet received their first dose of the vaccine.

The clinic will run on Monday, June 28, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the John D Bradley Convention Centre and is open to anyone aged 12+.

In partnership with CK Transit, CK Public Health will be offering free shuttle services direct to and from the Bradley Centre during walk-in clinic hours.

These shuttles will be departing from the WISH Centre in Chatham and the Walmart (County Fair Mall) in Wallaceburg.

For those unable to catch a shuttle but still wishing to take the bus, fares will be waived for Route 5 riders who identify to the bus driver that they are going to the clinic to receive their vaccine.

With a rising number of cases of the Delta variant across the province, Chatham-Kent’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Colby, is hoping to achieve more protection for our community.

“By eliminating the hassle of pre-booking appointments and finding transportation to the clinic,” stated Dr. Colby, in a press release.

“We will be able to get more Chatham-Kent residents vaccinated against COVID-19 before the Delta variant arrives here.”

There will be 300 walk-in appointments available on a first come, first served basis.

The vaccine administered at the clinic on June 28 will be the mRNA vaccine, CK Public Health officials say.

Those looking to get their first shot who are unable to attend Monday’s walk-in are asked to visit www.GetYourShotCK.ca and book an appointment at an upcoming clinic.
