Operational issue on Murray Street Bridge, due to crash

Municipal officials say the Murray Street Bridge over the Sydenham River, in the Community of Wallaceburg, cannot open to allow large boats to pass.

“This issue is due to a damaged utility pole from a motor vehicle accident,” Municipal officials said on Wednesday.

“The hydro feed to the bridge was damaged and needs to be repaired.”

The bridge is not operable until further notice, official say.

Smaller boats not requiring the bridge to operate can pass.

Vehicles and pedestrians can continue to use the bridge.
