Chatham-Kent Mayor Darrin Canniff has congratulated the community’s local Olympians.
“On behalf of our community, I would like to congratulate the five athletes from Chatham-Kent who represented their community and their country at the Tokyo Olympics Games,” Mayor Canniff said in a media release.
“The sacrifices they made and the dedication they have shown are an example to all young people who strive to achieve their dreams. We are extremely proud of Breanne, Bridget, Chris, Miranda and Nick and wish them well in their careers in athletics and beyond.”
Mayor Canniff added: “We also rooting for Alex who begins his Olympic journey August 24.”
Mayor Canniff also acknowledged Chatham-Kent’s Olympians during the virtual Council meeting held on Monday night, August 9, 2021.
