Breach of Curfew leads to Drug Charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 12:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious man in the backyard of a residence on King Street West in Chatham.
Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was currently bound by a daily curfew of 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
The man was taken into custody and upon being searched incident to arrest, was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
A 36-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and drug possession.
He was released pending a future court date of September 23, 2021.
Traffic Enforcement
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon, an officer with the Traffic Unit observed a man driving a motorcycle on the sidewalk along Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.
A traffic stop was initiated on Prince Street.
Through investigation, the officer learned that the license plate was not authorized for the motorcycle and the man did not have an M license.
The 37-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with several Highway Traffic Act offences.
The license plate was seized and the motorcycle was towed from the scene.
Motor Vehicle Collision
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, around 4:30 p.m. police responded to a two vehicle collision on Adelaide Street South between King Street and Wellington Street in Chatham.
No one was injured.
Total damage was estimated at $20,000.
The driver at fault was charged with disobeying a stop sign.
The other driver was charged with driving while under suspension.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Theft from Construction Site
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Friday at 5 p.m. and Monday at 7 a.m. unknown suspects stole a yellow Stone Champion mortar mixer from a construction site on Evening Trail in Chatham.
Total value of the theft has been estimated at $5,000.

Warrant arrest
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On August 8, police responded to a suspicious person complaint in the area of Richmond Street in Chatham.
The suspect, a 34 year old Chatham male, was located and arrested on a surety relief warrant.
The male was subsequently transported to South West Detention Centre.
