Update: The wind warning had ended for Chatham-Kent.
Environment Canada has issued a yellow wind warning for Chatham-Kent as strong winds continue through the afternoon.
Westerly winds gusting up to 110 km/h are expected as a cold front moves through the region. Environment Canada says winds in excess of 100 km/h have already been observed behind the front, with conditions forecast to ease later this afternoon.
The impact level is considered moderate, with high forecast confidence. Localized power outages are possible, along with some property damage. There is also a risk of injury due to flying or falling debris.
Residents are advised to secure loose objects and exercise caution while outdoors.
The public is encouraged to continue monitoring alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Severe weather reports can be sent by email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or shared on social media using the hashtag #ONStorm.
