Active COVID-19 case count at 52, eight hospitalized, vaccine clinics available in C-K

Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit officials updated their ‘current status’ page of their website on Monday, August 30, 2021.

Public health officials say a total of 136,473 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to date, 72,655 people 12+ have received at least one dose and 66,399 people 12+ have received two doses.

CK Public Health officials say the following vaccine clinic options are available:

Tuesday, August 31

– Downtown Chatham Centre 10-4 p.m.

Wednesday, September 1

– Chatham-Kent Health Alliance 2-8 p.m.

Thursday, September 2

– KSR International in Ridgetown 2-7 p.m.

The active COVID-19 case count sits at 52.

A total of eight people with COVID-19 from Chatham-Kent are currently hospitalized.

The total number of COVID-19 cases is 2,026 across Chatham-Kent, 23 more than on Friday.

A total of 1,957 cases have been resolved.

A total of 21 cases are linked to close contact, 13 cases have information pending, nine cases are unknown and eight cases are outbreak related.

CK Public Health officials say a community outbreak at an un-named congregate living setting remains active.

This outbreak includes eight cases in total and was first declared on August 25, 2021.

CK Public Health officials say the Delta variant continues to be the predominant circulating variant of concern in Chatham-Kent and Ontario.

“The majority of current cases among people living in CK have initial mutation screening results in line with the Delta variant,” public health officials added.

A total of 126,049 tests for the virus have been completed to date.

Since the pandemic began last March, a total of 17 people from Chatham-Kent have died from COVID-19.
