The Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing (WAMBO) have announced an extra day of activities for their re-scheduled event, set to take place on Thanksgiving Weekend.
The annual Terry Glover Memorial Dream Cruise will take place on Friday, October 8, 2021.
“Participants will meet at the mall parking lot, located at 60 McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg, at 6 p.m. and the cruise will leave at 7 p.m.,” WAMBO officials posted on social media.
“Registration will take place in the mall parking lot prior to the cruise and the vehicle limit is set at 200.”
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, participants are to remain in their vehicles at all times while staging and participating in the cruise, WAMBO officials say.
“There shall be no browsing of vehicles or showing off vehicles while staging,” WAMBO officials say.
“If being outside of the vehicle is a must, it is recommended that you stay with your vehicle while wearing a mask inside the vehicle staging area. A pamphlet of these guidelines, the rules of the cruise, and the cruise map will be handed out to each participant upon entry into the staging area.”
WAMBO officials also announced some LIVE musical entertainment taking place on Friday, October 8, 2021 as well.

“WAMBO is thrilled to announce that Leave Those Kids Alone will be performing LIVE in downtown Wallaceburg to help kick-off their 2021 Thanksgiving Weekend festivities,” organizers say.
“The teenage classic rock band from Windsor will be performing starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021 in the downtown parking lot in Wallaceburg. The band’s set will coincide with the Terry Glover Memorial Dream Cruise, which will be coming through the downtown core.”

Also on the weekend, WAMBO officials announced the postponement of their second annual WAMBO Golf Classic to October 16, 2021.
“Historically, the middle of October has been a great time to hold a golf tournament,” said Brian Armitage, WAMBO Director and Golf Tournament Organizer, in a social media post.
“Due to the course conditions, and on the advice of Hidden Hills management, we felt postponing the event was the best move to ensure a successful tournament.”
Organizers say prior to the postponement, WAMBO’s second annual tournament was set to take place on Saturday, September 25, 2021 and was SOLD-OUT.
Any questions or concerns about the tournament can be directed to Armitage at btage@cogeco.ca or 519-350-3931.
On September 15, 2021, the Board of Directors for WAMBO announced a “scaled-down version of their event” would be taking place this year.
