Suspicious person complaint leads to arrest and charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a suspicious person complaint at a business in Chatham.
Prior to police arrival, the man attempted to enter the business though was refused entry.
Through investigation, police learned that the man then began licking the door handle and wrote on the window causing damage.
Other information was received, in which police learned the man also caused damage at another nearby business and threatened the manager the previous night.
Officers located the man and he was arrested.
The 35-year-old Chatham man has been charged with three counts of mischief under $5,000 and assault with a weapon.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man charged with domestic related offences
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, police learned that a man attended the residence and was refused entry.
The man then entered the residence by removing the air conditioner and after a verbal altercation, assaulted the female inside.
The 26-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with break and enter commit assault.
He was released pending a future court date of October 20th, 2021.
Executed warrants
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police were on general patrol in the area of Park Avenue West in Chatham.
Officers located the man who was wanted for multiple robbery offences.
The 35-year-old man was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening, police located a man in Chatham who was wanted for criminal harassment and uttering threats.
The 19-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released pending a future court date of October 27th, 2021.
Woman charged with failing to comply
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 19, 2021 the woman was released from custody with several conditions.
Two of those conditions stated that she was to notify police of any change of address and not to communicate with a specific Bothwell man.
Tuesday morning, police attended the man’s home for an unrelated matter.
At this time, police learned that the woman had been living with the man since the summer.
The 30-year-old woman was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with her release conditions.
She was held in custody pending a bail hearing and released with a future court date of October 29, 2021.
Woman found driving contrary to release conditions
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 23, 2021 the woman was released from Court with several conditions.
One of those conditions stated that she was not to have control of a motor vehicle.
Tuesday afternoon, an officer on general patrol observed the woman driving in Chatham.
A traffic stop was initiated and the woman was arrested.
A search incident to arrest found the woman to be in possession of suspected fentanyl.
The 36-year-old Chatham woman was charged with failing to comply with her release conditions and drug possession. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man fails to comply with probation order
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On August 4, 2020 the man entered into a Probation Order with several conditions.
One of those conditions stated that he was not to attend the home of his ex-girlfriend in Chatham.
Tuesday night, police received information that the man was observed at the woman’s home.
Officers located the man a short distance away and he was taken into custody.
The 34-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to comply with his Probation Order.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Domestic disturbance leads to arrests
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Tuesday night, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that this was not the first incident of domestic violence between the couple, even though both are currently bound by conditions not to communicate with each other.
The 38-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and two counts of assault.
The 35-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with three counts of failing to comply with her release conditions.
Both have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Industrial accident in Tilbury
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Tuesday afternoon, emergency crews responded to an industrial accident in Tilbury.
A 42-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ministry of Labour was notified and has taken over the investigation.
Break and enter in Chatham
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Monday at 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. unknown suspects entered The Salvation Army Community and Family Services Centre on Raleigh Street and stole an iPhone.

Man charged with impaired driving
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 3:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Albert Street in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, the officer believed the man was driving while under the influence.
A Standard Field Sobriety Test was conducted and the man failed.
The man was arrested and transported to Petrolia OPP where a Drug Recognition Expert conducted an evaluation.
As a result, the DRE officer believed the man was impaired by a drug.
The man was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and cocaine along with a scale and large quantity of cash.
Total street value of the drugs seized was approximately $1,600.
A 33-year-old North York was charged with impaired driving and possession for the purposes of trafficking.
He was released pending a future court date of November 11, 2021.
Youth charged with assault
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Monday night around 6:00 p.m. police responded to a disturbance on Cecile Avenue between two youths known to each other.
The victim, a 14-year-old Chatham youth, sustained injuries, but did not require medical attention.
A 14-year-old Chatham youth was arrested and charged with assault.
He was released pending a future court date of November 8, 2021.
Mischief to school in Chatham
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime over the weekend, unknown suspects damaged two windows at Victor Lauriston Public School on Alexandra Avenue.

Traffic stop leads to charge
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, an officer on general patrol observed a vehicle travelling on Lacroix Street in Chatham.
A query of the license plates revealed that they were not registered to the vehicle.
The officer initiated a traffic stop and the 53-year-old Chatham man was charged with using plates not authorized for the vehicle.
The license plates were seized and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Monday morning, members of the Traffic Unit monitored the crosswalk on Michener Road in Chatham for speeding offences and to ensure the safety of children walking to school.
One person was stopped and charged with failing to stop at the crossover.
