Collision leads to weapon related charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning around 8 a.m. police responded to a two vehicle collision on Grand Avenue East near Taylor Avenue in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the female driver of one vehicle was threatened with a knife by the male driver of the other vehicle.

The man fled the scene prior to police arrival.

As a result of the collision, the woman’s boyfriend attended the man’s home and assaulted him while damaging his car.

The 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault, being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and mischief over $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of November 12, 2021.

The 41-year-old Chatham man, involved in the collision, was arrested and charged with uttering threats and being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was released pending a future court date of November 3, 2021.

Youth charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege On September 30, 2021 police responded to a local secondary school in regards to a physical altercation between two female students.

Last night, a 14-year-old Chatham youth was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm.

She was released pending a future court date of October 25, 2021.

Stolen truck in Bothwell

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege Around 2:30 a.m. this morning, unknown suspects stole a red 1999 Dodge Ram pick-up truck with a red topper from a residence on Peter Street.

The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates AH96 488.

Theft of traffic signs in Ridgetown

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege Sometime between September 30 and October 1 unknown suspects stole three ‘No Parking’ signs and one ‘School Crossing’ sign along Main Street East.
