Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: A Chatham-Kent police officer has been charged following an investigation of intimate partner violence.
On November 11, 2021 the officer was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal harassment.
The officer was held in custody and released by the courts on Monday pending a future court date of December 7, 2021.
To ensure impartiality surrounding this investigation, the Chatham-Kent Police Service requested assistance from the Windsor Police Service.
As a result, the Windsor Police has taken over the investigation.
No further information will be released in order to protect the identity of the victim, integrity of the investigation and subsequent criminal court process along with pending Police Services Act investigation.
The officer is currently suspended from duty, with pay.
