“One occupant was rescued from the second storey by three off-duty firefighters who were first on scene. When fire crews arrived on scene they found an attached garage fully engulfed and had extended into the home. Heavy smoke and high winds hampered firefighting efforts and forced crews to perform defensive operations.”

Fire officials say Stations #18 – Blenheim, #17 – Merlin, and tanker support from Stations #15 – Raleigh North and #12 – Harwich North were also on scene to assist.

Fire officials say no injuries were reported.
