Theft in Wallaceburg leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon at approximately 3:30 p.m. officers were called to a business on James Street in the town of Wallaceburg in regards to a shoplifting incident.

The suspect attempted to steal multiple items and when confronted by store staff, he assaulted them while attempting to flee.

Upon police arrival, the male resisted arrest, continuing to try and leave the store.

After a brief struggle, the male was taken into custody.

The 31-year old Wallaceburg man was charged with theft and possession under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, assault and resisting arrest.

He was transported to CKPS HQ where he was lodged and held pending a bail hearing.

Warrant arrests

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning at 7:36 a.m., police attended the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in regards to an unwanted person.

As a result, police located a 38-year old female and removed her from the property.

She was later arrested on an outstanding warrant and is currently in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, at 4:30 p.m. officers attended Communication Road where OPP had a vehicle stopped.

A query of the occupants revealed that a female inside the vehicle had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

A woman of no fixed address was arrested and later released with a future court date of January 11, 2022.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at 4:50 p.m., officers attended an address on Bloomfield Road in regards to a disturbance call.

As a result of the investigation, a Chatham man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

He was later released with a future court date of January 12, 2022.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at around 6:15 p.m. an officer on general patrol in the town of Wallaceburg observed a male on Wallace St.

The male was queried which revealed he was wanted for multiple breaches of his legal conditions.

A Wallaceburg man was arrested and later released with a future court date of January 18, 2022.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening around 9:20 p.m., police were called to an address on Michener Road in Chatham in regards to a person having a medical crisis.

After getting assessed medically, the 36-year old Chatham man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for theft and possession under $5,000.

He was released with a future court date of January 12, 2022.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening at 9:30 p.m. officer were called to an address on Wallace Street in the town of Wallaceburg in regards to a suspicious person.

Police located a female in the area and a query revealed she was wanted for failing to attend court.

A Wallaceburg woman was arrested and later released with a future court date of January 18, 2022.

Break and enters

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, officers attended an address on Pearl Street in Tilbury in regards to a break and enter that had occurred on December 16, 2021 at 5 a.m.

Unknown suspects forced their way into a locked shed and removed a BMX bike valued at $600.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, officers attended an address on Harwich Road in Blenheim.

An investigation revealed that sometime, early that morning, unknown suspects pried open a door to a garage and removed $1,500 worth of tools.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning at around 1:40 a.m. police attended an address on Dover Street in Chatham in regards to an alarm call.

Upon arrival officer located the front door window had been smashed out.

Multiple hand tools were stolen during the break and enter.

Officers located the tools stashed nearby and were returned to the owner.

Man charged with break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday at approximately 11 p.m., a man attended a pharmacy in Chatham and broke two windows to gain entry.

Through investigation, police identified the man who was already in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Stolen property was also recovered as a result of the investigation.

The 31-year-old Chatham man was arrested for the updated charge of break enter with intent to commit theft and remained in custody pending the already scheduled bail hearing.

Break and enter in Romney

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime Wednesday evening unknown suspects forced their way into a building on 4th Concession Line in Romney.

Once inside the building, suspects removed 2 Dewalt Drills, Briggs and Stratton 3500 Generator, Microscope tooling, two 20 lbs. propane tanks and a flashlight.

The estimated value of said property is near $2,000.

Woman charged with stunt driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 2 p.m. yesterday afternoon, a member of our Traffic Unit observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Countryview Line.

The officer recorded the woman driving 141km/h in a posted 80km/h zone.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver was issued a summons for stunt driving with a court date of January 26, 2022.

The driver, a 29-year-old Chatham woman was charged with stunt driving.

Her license has been suspended for 30 days and her vehicle has been impounded for 14 days.

Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime Thursday evening, unknown suspects forced their way into a compound of a business in Chatham.

Once inside the compound they removed a large amount of scrap metal.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, Petrolia OPP located a man who was wanted by the Chatham-Kent Police for failing to attend court.

The Chatham-Kent Police attended their location and arrested the man.

He was released with a future court date.

Man charged with uttering threats

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that during a verbal argument, the man threatened his ex-partner.

The 27-year-old man of Chatham was arrested and charged with uttering threats.

He was released with a future court date.
