Seth Griffith called up by the Edmonton Oilers, suits up against the Seattle Kraken

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith is back in the NHL.

The Edmonton Oilers announced on Friday evening that they have recalled the 28-year-old forward from the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.

Griffith suited up for the Oilers on Saturday night, December 18, 2021, when they visited the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena.

Griffith logged 5:37 minutes of ice time in a 5-3 Oilers victory. The Oilers played the game with only 11 forwards and six defencemen, due to injuries and COVID protocol designations.

Griffith was +1 in nine shifts and did not record a point or a shot on goal.

Oilers officials say Griffith has scored six goals and 12 assists for 18 points in 18 games with Bakersfield this season.

Griffith has recorded eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 79 career NHL games, but has yet to suit up for Edmonton since the team signed him to a two-year, two-way contract on October 9, 2020.

Griffith had last played in an NHL game on March 7, 2018, with the Buffalo Sabres.
