A Longest Night Service of Hope and Remembrance is being held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 7 p.m. at Trinity United Church in Wallaceburg.
“The Christmas season, with its anticipation and celebration, can be a difficult time,” church officials say.
“Those grieving a loss, feeling alone, despairing, angry, anxious or regretful, feel at times, the burden rather than the joy. As the nights grow longer, the darkness seems to weigh heavily. Having a safe place to bring your pain can be healing.”
The church is inviting people to join in an “intimate gathering” of candle lighting, scripture, music and prayer.
