Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 7, 2021 the man was released from Court with several conditions.

Two of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Wallaceburg woman or attend her home.

Yesterday morning, around 5:30 a.m. the man attended the woman’s home.

The 37-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and remanded until January 13, 2022.

Woman charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police received information regarding an incident of domestic violence at a residence in the Merlin area.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested and charged with assault.

She was released pending a future court date of February 8, 2022.

Man charged with criminal harassment

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Sunday, police received information that a man was harassing another man and woman, known to him.

Early this morning, the 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with criminal harassment and uttering threats.

He was released pending a future court date of February 16, 2022.

Man charged with driving while under suspension

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on James Street in Wallaceburg.

The driver, a 35-year-old Newmarket man, was charged with driving while under suspension along with failing to produce his ownership and insurance.

He will be required to attend Provincial Offences Court on February 9, 2022.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, police conducted traffic enforcement throughout Chatham-Kent.

Nineteen motorists were stopped and charged with speeding and various traffic related offences.
