Woman charged with impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a collision on Delaware Avenue near Gladstone Avenue in Chatham, as the woman lost control of her vehicle and struck a parked vehicle.

Through investigation, police believed the woman was driving while under the influence of alcohol and she was arrested.

The woman was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 35-year-old Chatham woman was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, failing to surrender her license and permit along with driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.

She was released pending a future court date of February 4, 2022.

Motor vehicle collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Grand Avenue East between Michener Road and Walker Road in Chatham.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $3,000.

A 61-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to yield from a driveway.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police conducted traffic enforcement on Longwoods Road between Prince Albert Road and Caledonia Road in Chatham.

10 motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.
