Man charged with robbery
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a disturbance at a motel in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the man, while holding scissors in a threatening manner, stole three laptops and a cell phone from the staff’s office.
Officers located the man outside and he was taken into custody.
The property was recovered and returned to their rightful owners.
The 24-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with robbery and being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He was released pending a future court date of February 22, 2022.
Traffic stop leads to arrest
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Sandys Street in Chatham, where the man falsely identified himself to the officer.
Through investigation, police confirmed the man’s true identity and learned that he was currently wanted on two outstanding warrants.
The 34-year-old Chatham man was arrested and additionally charged with obstruct police and failing to comply with his curfew.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Disturbance leads to charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a disturbance in Chatham between a man and woman, who were both on conditions not to communicate with each other.
The 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, police monitored traffic in the area of Paxton Drive and Orangewood Boulevard in Chatham.
Several vehicles were observed travelling through the area, with no infractions observed.
