Theft from storage units in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 8:30 a.m. unknown suspects cut the locks off two storage units on Richmond Street.

Various tools were stolen with an approximate value of $3,000.

Motor vehicle collisions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Queen Street in Chatham.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $10,000.

A 17-year-old Chatham teen was charged with making a left turn while failing to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid a collision.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Grand Avenue East between Memory Lane and Taylor Avenue in Chatham.

The driver, a 56-year-old Chatham man lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, struck a hydro pole and nearby building.

The man was transported to hospital for medical attention.

Total damage was estimated at $3,000.

He was charged with careless driving.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Richmond Street near Keil Drive in Chatham.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $2,000.

The driver responsible for the collision was charged with following too closely.

An 18-year-old Bothwell woman was charged with careless driving.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $8,000.

An 86-year-old Chatham woman was charged with disobeying a red light.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on McDougall Line near Queens Line.

No one was injured.

A 37-year-old Harrow man was charged with attempting to pass when the roadway was not clear.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Park Avenue West in Chatham.

The driver, a 36-year-old Chatham man, was charged with speeding, driving while under suspension, obstruct license plate and failing to surrender his insurance.

He will be required to attend Provincial Offences Court on February 23, 2022.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, the Traffic Unit monitored traffic in the area of Middle Line near Bolohan Drive in Tilbury.

Ten motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.

Two motorists were stopped and charged with speeding in the area of Drover’s Road and 3rd Concession Line.

One motorist was stopped and charged with speeding on Middleton Line.
