Municipal pools set to reopen on February 7, including Wallaceburg

CKRecreation is excited to open the doors once again at Gable Rees Rotary Pool and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool on February 7, 2022.

Following the recent provincial announcement, indoor pools are allowed to reopen at 50% capacity, Municipal officials say.

The recreational swimming schedule will be online starting January 31st and registration will continue to open one week prior to the respective swim time.

Pool users will notice quite a few changes at the pool in 2022, including the following:

– Memberships and passes are back

– Swim times have returned to normal (which means you get more time in the pool)

– Fees have returned to normal (since they are able to increase swim times)

– Vaccine QR Code is required

Municipal officials added parents will be excited to hear that Winter H20 swim lessons, which includes semi-private and private lessons, will also be available starting the week of February 7.

Lessons will be offered at both locations and will be viewable online and open for registration on January 31.

“We are happy to be able to open our doors once again to Chatham-Kent,” said Kelly Emery, Director, Child Care, Early Years and Recreation, in a media release.

“We know our indoor pools provide much needed recreational options to our community, especially during the cold winter months. We are excited to see all of our members and families back in our facilities soon.”

CKRecreation’s regularly scheduled spring session will be viewable online starting January 31st with registration opening Monday, February 14.

Pool operations will continue to abide by all provincial and local COVID-19 regulations including reduced capacity, social distancing and face covering requirements.

Swimmers are encouraged to review a full list of FAQ’s prior to their visit to the pool at chatham-kent.ca/recreationswimming
