Woman arrested for impaired driving
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m. police responded to a driving complaint involving a vehicle travelling westbound on Queens Line near Wheeler Line in Tilbury.
Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
Police believed the female driver was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
The female driver was administered a roadside screening device and transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.
A 29-year-old Belle River woman has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
She was released with conditions pending a future court date of May 3, 2022.
Man arrested for domestic related offences
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night at 7:30 p.m. police responded to a complaint involving intimate partner violence.
Through investigation police learned the man and his ex-girlfriend engaged in a verbal argument.
The incident escalated into a physical altercation which involved the man grabbing the woman by the throat.
The woman’s dog bit the man, allowing the woman to get break free.
She was able to get to a place of safety and call 911.
The 56-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats.
He was transported to police headquarters and held for bail.
Woman arrested for intoxicated in a public place
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 10 p.m. last night police conducted a well-being check on a woman and child walking northbound on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Police attended and found the woman unable to care for herself due to intoxication.
The child was placed in the care of a relative.
The woman was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place, transported to police headquarters, and held until sober.
