Frank Teahan

It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely death of Frank Teahan on May 9, 2022.

Beloved husband of 45 years to Mary-ann Teahan (nee Habib).

Cherished father of Patrick (Brandi), and Heather (Jay). Adored “Pawpa” of Finley Teahan.

Dear brother of Peggy (Dominic) Coffey, Paude Teahan, Nora (the late Pat) Hanafin, and Marie (Brendan) Hanafin.

Loving son-in-law of Lila (the late Habib “Joe”) Habib.

Brother-in-law of Genevieve (Barry) Grant, Gabe Habib (Wendy Philips), Joanne Habib-Sharpe (Brian Sharpe), and Roseanne Baker.

Frank will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbourhood dogs.

Frank is reunited with his family dog Zak only days after celebrating his 70th birthday.

Frank worked with the LKDSB for 33 years as Custodial Maintenance Supervisor in Wallaceburg; and made life-long friendships with staff, parents and every student he met.

Frank was born in Ireland where at the age of 12, upon the death of both parents (John & Mary Teahan) he was separated from his siblings and sent to England to live with his Uncle Pat & Aunt Peggy who raised Frank to become a kind, caring, loving family man.

At the age of 18; Frank went to the airport to buy a ticket to either Canada or Australia and chose Canada because it was the cheaper ticket.

After 3 years of working in tool & die between Brantford and Vancouver, he met the love of his life – a “hippie” in a bar called the Sunset Inn in Vancouver at the age of 22. He moved in with her the very next day.

Frank finally became a Canadian Citizen on September 14, 2012 after 39 years of refusing to pledge allegiance to the Queen.

Frank was an incredible father and husband, while creating a perfect childhood for his children and giving them all the love in his heart. His proudest accomplishment was becoming “Pawpa” to his beloved Finley, the light of his life. He used his creative woodworking talents to make so many special gifts for her, as well as many lasting memories of their adventures together. Anybody that met Frank was instantly welcomed onto his porch, into his home, around his fire, and into his heart.

Donations in his honor can be made to the Pet and Wildlife Rescue which can be left at the funeral home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home; 409 Nelson St, Wallaceburg, ON (519) 627-3231. On Wednesday May 18; family and friends are invited to meet at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 422 Elgin St, Wallaceburg for Mass of the resurrection at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.

On Saturday May 21 family and friends are invited to gather at the Teahan residence after 7 p.m. to raise a glass and celebrate Frank’s life in true Irish tradition. Arrangements entrusted to Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave, South Windsor (519)969-5841.
