Dover firefighters receive St. John Ambulance Lifesaving Award

Earlier this week, five firefighters from Station #4 – Dover were presented with the St. John Ambulance Lifesaving Award.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services officials say the award was handed out for their “tremendous efforts” during an incident last year involving a fatal accident on the ice in Mitchells Bay.

“I am extremely proud of our firefighters for being recognized by our partnering agencies for such a challenging occurrence,” Chief Chris Case said on social media.

“Congratulations from everyone at CK Fire.”

The awards were presented by the OPP Commissioner and the St. John Ambulance Commissioner at the West Region Awards Ceremony for the OPP.
