At 8:21 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.
This line of severe thunderstorms is located from New Hamburg to 11 kilometres north of Dorchester to 8 kilometres south of Melbourne to Chatham, moving east at 60 km/h.
Hazard:
110 km/h wind gusts.
Nickel size hail.
Locations impacted include:
Chatham, Woodstock, Rodney, Ingersoll, Tavistock, New Hamburg, Norwich, Ridgetown, John E. Pearce Provincial Park, Shedden, Dorchester, Innerkip, Ayr, Highgate, Port Glasgow, West Lorne, Dutton, Iona, Port Talbot and Southwold.

Environment Canada issued a tornado watch in Chatham-Kent at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes,” forecasters say.
“Strong winds and large hail are also possible.”
Environment Canada officials say hazards, include: A few tornadoes, including the possibility of strong tornadoes, damaging wind gusts of 90 to 110 km/h and nickel to toonie size hail.
The timing is this afternoon and evening.
“Thunderstorms that develop over eastern Michigan are expected to affect the area beginning this afternoon,” forecasters say.
“A few tornadoes are possible, some of which may be strong. The greatest probability of tornadoes will be mid to late afternoon. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.”
In the event of a tornado, or if a tornado warning is issued for your area, Environment Canada officials say it is recommended you take the following actions: Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet.
“Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can,” Environment Canada officials added.
“As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.”
