Police: Fentanyl and meth seized, theft, crash, impaired driving

Theft and possession

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at approximately 2:19 p.m., police were called to an address on Grand River Line in Chatham with regards to a theft.

Officers learned that an unknown male party was on the property, taking a bicycle, and riding it away.

A short time later, a 48 year old Chatham man was located, matching the descriptors provided to the officers.

The man was arrested for theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, and later released from custody with a future court date.

Man charged with drug possession

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The 48-year-old Chatham man from the above mentioned theft and possession incident, was searched incident to arrest and was found to be in possession of suspected crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl.

The man received the additional drug possession charges.

Woman arrested after collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at approximately 7:18 p.m. Chatham-Kent Police officers attended the area of Mud Creek Line in Dover for a single motor vehicle collision.

The driver, a 47-year-old Tupperville woman was located, spoken with and displayed signs of intoxication.

The driver was arrested at the scene for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

Breath analysis results revealed 220mg and 210mg blood alcohol level, exceeding the legal limit of 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood.

The woman was charged and later released from custody with a future court date.
