Civic Holiday closures in C-K & at the CKHA

Municipal offices and most services will be closed Monday, August 1 in recognition of the Civic Holiday.

Other services are scheduled as follows:

Cemetery Operations: Cemetery staff will be on call for funeral homes that require at-need sales.

Ride CK: All Ride CK Transit services will not operate Monday, August 1.

Emergency Services: Police, Fire and Ambulance are operational 24 hours a day, every day, and are accessible by dialling “911” for emergency calls only. The Fire Administration office will be closed on Monday, August 1, and re-opening on Tuesday, August 2 at 8:30 am.

Arts and Culture: Chatham Capitol Theatre, Kiwanis Theatre, Chatham Cultural Centre, Chatham-Kent Museum, Thames Art Gallery, ARTspace, Milner Heritage House and Ridge House Museum will be closed on August 1.

Entegrus and Public Utilities Commission: Entegrus and the Public Utilities Commission will be closed. The emergency call number is 519-352-6300.

Health and Family Services Building: The Health and Family Services building will be closed Monday, August 1, including the offices of Employment and Social Services, Housing Services, Child Care and Early Years, and Public Health.

Emergency Rapid Rehousing Program: During the evening, on weekends, and holidays, please call the after-hours Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628 for homeless emergencies within Chatham-Kent. This number is available 24/7.

EarlyON: All EarlyON programs are closed Monday, August 1

Libraries: All public libraries will be closed Monday, August 1.

Public Health King Street: Public Health King Street, located at 177 King St. E., Chatham will be closed Monday, August 1. Essential after-hours Public Health services are available by calling 1-866-446-8207.

Provincial Offences Court will be closed Monday, August 1. Regular business hours 8:30 – 4:30 p.m. will resume on August 2.

Pools: The Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool, Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool and the 7 outdoor pools located in Chatham (3), Dresden, Ridgetown, Thamesville and Tilbury will be open with their regular schedule.

CK Recreation Stay n Play Day Camps: Day camp programs will be open during regular hours (8:30 am-4:30 pm) on Monday, August 1st.

Arenas: Thames Campus and Blenheim arenas are open for scheduled rentals. All other arenas are closed Monday, August 1.

Riverview Gardens: Reception and administrative offices will be closed on August 1. Nursing staff can be reached 24/7 by calling 519-352-4823.

Waste and Recycling: Curbside garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by one day for the whole week of August 1. Refer to the 2022 Waste and Recycling Collection Guide for details.

Transfer Stations: The Harwich Transfer Station and Wallaceburg Transfer Station will be closed Monday, August 1. All other transfer stations will be open during regular hours and will not be affected by the holiday.

Leaf and Yard Depots: All Leaf & Yard Depots will be closed on August 1.

Chatham-Kent Tourism: CK Tourism will be closed on August 1. To access visitor information at any time, please visit www.visitck.ca.

Admin and Garage Facilities at 50 Siemens Dr. will be closed Monday, August 1.

Some health care services offered at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be altered on Monday, August 1, 2022 in recognition of the Civic Holiday.

During the statutory holiday, some outpatient diagnostic tests will take place. Patients with scheduled diagnostic tests are advised to attend their appointments. These departments will also be staffed to meet the needs of inpatients and emergencies.

Ambulatory Care Services, Out-Patient Rehabilitation Services, Pre-Surgical Screening Services, Diabetes Education Centre, the TIA and CAD Clinics, Pulmonary Function Lab, Outpatient Lab Services, Health Records and Patient Appointment Offices will be closed on Monday, August 1, 2022.

The Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions Program Outpatient Department will be closed on Monday, August 1, 2022. The Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine clinic will be closed on Monday, August 1, 2022. For any immediate crisis, please call the crisis line at 1-866-299-7447 or visit your nearest Emergency Room.

Elston Pharmacy, located at the Chatham Site, will be closed on Monday, August 1, 2022.

The Oncology/Chemotherapy Department will be closed on Monday, August 1, 2022.

The Business Office and Cashier’s Office will be closed on Monday, August 1, 2022. Please note there are two bill changers in the building to accommodate change for coin.

Hemodialysis Care will be open on Monday, August 1, 2022.

The COVID-19 Assessment Centre, located at the 10 Grand Avenue plaza in Chatham will be closed on Monday, August 1, 2022.

The Emergency Departments at the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will remain open 24 hours daily.
