Chatham-Kent Public Library offering free seeds for fall gardening

Start your fall gardening with free seeds from Chatham-Kent Public Library.

CKPL Grows Fall Seed Library program will launch on Tuesday, September 6.

All branches are offering a variety of plant seeds for residents to grow.

To celebrate the launch of this program, the library will be hosting a virtual presentation on planting for pollinators delivered by Lorraine Johnson and sponsored by the Sydenham Field Naturalists.

“Lorraine is the author of many books on native plant gardening, including “100 Easy-to-Grow Native Plants for Canadian Gardens” (now in its third edition) and her recently published book “A Garden for the Rusty-Patched Bumblebee: Creating Habitat for Native Pollinators”, co-authored with conservation biologist Sheila Colla,” library officials say.

The live virtual presentation will be offered on Monday, September 12 at 6 p.m.
