Former Tilbury Mayor, Chatham-Kent Councillor Bryon Fluker dies

Bryon Fluker, a former Mayor of Tilbury and a Chatham-Kent Councillor representing West Kent, has died.

His obituary says he died peacefully on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Riverview Gardens in Chatham.

He was 76.

“Bryon was a retired teacher at Tilbury District High School and had a 46-year political career representing the Town of Tilbury as councillor and Mayor,” his obituary stated.

Fluker was married to his wife Nellie for 55 years and will be remembered by his daughters Jodi and Kari and his grandchildren Lexcie and Riley.

Visitation will take place at the Reaume Funeral Home, located at 6 Canal Street West in Tilbury, on Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at Valetta Presbyterian Church in Valetta at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022.

Interment will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, located on Morris Road in Tilbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to the Chatham-Kent Hospice or Ashley’s Place.
