One new COVID-19 death in C-K, outbreak declared at Fairfield Park

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit provided the latest COVID-19 statistics in the community on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

One new death was reported.

A total of 82 Chatham-Kent residents have died from the virus since the pandemic began in March of 2020, public health officials say.

CK Public Health officials say 78 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Wednesday, increasing the total number of cases to 9,121 since the pandemic began.

The current seven day rolling average case count (average number per day) is at 11.

Five outbreaks are active across Chatham-Kent, including a new outbreak at Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg.

A total of 17 positive cases are linked to the Wallaceburg long-term care home.

A total of 231,363 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to date, 85,077 people 5+ have received at least one dose, 82,306 people 5+ have received two doses and 51,124 people 5+ have received three doses.

CK Public Health officials say as of the week of May 1 the Chatham-Kent COVID-19 Surveillance Report will be updated once per week on Wednesdays by 11 a.m.
