Third Street Bridge completion date pushed to September

The opening of the Third Street Bridge was previously postponed due to a supplier related delay with the delivery of the bridge’s railings.

Municipal officials say shipments of the railings have begun to arrive and the primary contractor for the project, Toronto Zenith, has been working to install them in a timely manner.

“These railings are a critical component to ensure the safety of both pedestrian and vehicular traffic on the bridge,” Municipal officials said in a media release.

“It is expected that the shipments of railings will continue to arrive in the coming weeks and installation will continue throughout the month of August, with an anticipated completion in early September. The opening date of the Third Street Bridge will be announced in a future media release once the railings have been delivered to the site and a timeline can be officially established through the primary contractor.”
