Spirit of the Sixties performing Saturday at the Sydenham Community Curling Club

Spirit of the Sixties, the band that rocked a sold-out Czech Hall in Dresden twice last year, will be performing at the Sydenham Community Curling Club in Wallaceburg on Saturday, August 20 at 8 p.m. with the net proceeds from the event going to support the curling club.

The band will be playing its usual line-up of great tunes from the 1960’s – tunes like Happy Together, California Dreamin’, Beat Goes On, Itchykoo Park, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Gimme Shelter and many, many more.

The band promises to take you back to a time when life seemed simpler and you could just go out for an evening and have some fun.

The band features Bill Morrow and Zach Stenton on guitars, Rebecca Gardiner, Kim Sterling and Dan Taylor on vocals and Jerry Gregson and John Gardiner on drums and bass.

“This should be a really fun event,” said Sydenham Curling Club President Al Kerkhof, in a media release.

“Music from the ‘60’s is mostly upbeat and good for hitting the dance floor. We’re going to have a really great party.”

Bassist John Gardiner put the band together with only one thing in mind.

“We want people to forget about all the negative stuff in the world and just come out and enjoy themselves for an evening,” he said, in a media release.

For tickets, call Sue at 519-381-0061.

Cost is $20 and a cash bar will be available.

Net proceeds will support the curling club.
