Police: Fishing supplies stolen in Wallaceburg, assault, motor vehicle theft

Man arrested after domestic disturbance

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon police responded to a disturbance at the Days Inn, Wallaceburg shortly after 1:30 p.m.

Initial information received was a female felt unsafe while inside her room and had alleged she was assaulted by her male partner.

Through investigation the Wallaceburg man was found to be in breach of his probation and was additionally charged with assault and uttering threats.

He was held pending a bail hearing.

Break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday officers attended a residence on Book Street in Wallaceburg with regards to a complaint of a break and enter.

Sometime within the last week, unknown suspects forced their way into a shed and stole miscellaneous fishing supplies.

Total value estimated at $8,000.

Motor vehicle theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night officers attended the Chatham Casino in regards to a parking complaint.

Officer’s attended and immediately one male occupant fled on foot.

Police were not able to locate the male at the time of the incident and it was later discovered the male who was known to police, currently is wanted on outstanding charges.

Police returned to the vehicle to speak to the other female occupant, however she as well had fled the area.

The vehicle that was being occupied by the male and female was also reported stolen.

Police have sought an additional warrant for both the male and female for theft of motor vehicle.
