Boil water advisory remains in place across Wallaceburg, watermain repair complete

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit has provided an update on the boil water advisory, which remains in place across Wallaceburg.

“Water main repair has been completed and the first set of samples have been collected,” public health officials said on social media.

“The results for these samples are still pending. The second set of samples will be taken tomorrow (Friday, November 11).”

The boil water advisory was issued to all consumers of the Wallaceburg Distribution System on the Chatham-Kent Municipal water supply on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, due to a water main break and repair, CK Public Health officials said.

Chatham-Kent’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Colby, is advising residents to bring their water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes e.g. drinking, making infant formula and juice, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice.

Public health officials say the advisory measure is in place until CK Public Health receives good results from two consecutive sets of samples taken a minimum of 24 hours apart.

Updates are being provided, via the Water Advisory update line, by calling 519-436-3250.
