Man arrested for failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 30, 2022, the man attended the Chatham-Kent Police Wallaceburg station and turned himself into the police.

The man was arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court related to a motor vehicle collision where the man was charged with leaving the scene of a collision.

The 62-year-old Wallaceburg man was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a further court date of December 12, 2022.

Woman arrested for theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 11:22 a.m., police responded to the Real Canadian Superstore on St. Clair Street in Chatham for a theft.

Before police arrived, the items were recovered, and the woman left the store.

Police were able to identify the woman by using surveillance footage.

Police learned the woman was bound by a probation order which included a condition not to attend the Real Canadian Superstore.

The 35-year-old Chatham woman was later located and arrested.

She was charged with theft, possessing stolen property, and violating a probation order.

She was released with a future court date.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 30, 2022, police located the man on Dufferin Avenue in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned the man was wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court after being charged with impaired driving.

The 62-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

He was held pending a bail hearing.

Woman arrested for being intoxicated in a public place

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 1, 2022, at 3:39 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Talbot Street East in Blenheim.

Police arrived on the scene and found the woman intoxicated and unable to care for herself.

Police also learned she was wanted on an outstanding warrant held by the Toronto Police Service and was arrested.

The 24-year-old woman was transported to police headquarters and held until she could be turned over to the Toronto Police Service.
