Update: Body of missing Sarnia man located

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: The Sarnia Police Service wishes to advise the public that the body of Mr. Anthony (“Tony”) Roberston, 75 years of age, has been located.

Mr. Robertson was reported missing on December 29, 2022, and deemed a vulnerable person prompting an intense search by the Sarnia Police Service along with other agencies such as the OPP, London Search and Rescue, Huron Search and Rescue, and both the Sarnia and Point Edward Fire.

On January 12, 2023, at approximately 5 p.m., a pedestrian, in the area of Indian Road and Plank Road located a deceased person off an embankment within the tall grass and water.

Police attended the area and located the body of an elderly male.

This morning a post mortem was conducted in London, Ontario, and it has been confirmed that the body is that of Mr Anthony Robertson.

According to preliminary information, there are no signs to indicate suspicious circumstances.

The area where Mr. Robertson was located was outside the intense search area but a drone and a helicopter was utilized to cover the area.

At the time of the search the water level was much higher and the water was very dirty which impeded visibility.

Finally, the Sarnia Police Service would like to thank the public for its assistance and support.
