Impaired driving charges laid on Hwy. 40 near Lambton Line

Lambton OPP officials allege: On January 29, 2023, at 8:40 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle exceeding the speed limit on Highway 40 and a traffic stop was conducted near Lambton Line.

Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage and was displaying signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP detachment where they provided two samples of breath above the legal limit.

A 22-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with the following:

– Operation While Impaired and,

– Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
