Lambton OPP officials allege: Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Lambton Detachment have charged one person in connection with an injured child at a home in Petrolia.
On January 24, 2023 at shortly before 3:00 p.m., the OPP and paramedics responded when It was reported that a one-year-old male child had fallen into a backyard pool at a home on Juniper Crescent.
The child was transported to hospital in London for treatment and was later released.
As a result of the investigation, on February 16, 2023, members of the Lambton County Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, charged a 50-year-old Petrolia woman, with Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm.
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on March 22, 2023.
