OPP officials allege: An individual is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop in Plympton-Wyoming.
The Ontario Provincial Police said an officer with the Lambton County detachment initiated a traffic stop just before 12:40 a.m. on March 29 on London Line, east of Camlachie Road, while conducting general patrol.
As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old from Wyoming was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with operation while impaired — alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired — blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
Police said the driver was issued a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on April 20.
Police say they remain committed to removing impaired drivers from the roads through enforcement and education, and remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drugs is safe when driving.
Anyone who suspects an impaired driver is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
