2023 dog tags due by March 31 in Chatham-Kent

Officials with the Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) in Chatham-Kent says it’s time to order 2023 dog tags.

“If your dog is lost or injured, a dog tag helps us get in touch with you,” PAWR officials say.

“Licensed dogs are more likely to be returned home if they wander off. As a pet owner, licensing your dog is the responsible thing to do.”

PAWR officials say dog owners should get their 2023 dog licence before the March 31 deadline to avoid a $10 late fee.

Also, dog licence tags can be purchased at any Municipal Office, by mail or over the phone.

Purchase over the phone between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard and American Express accepted) by calling 519-360-1998.

When calling, make sure you have your mailing address and your dog’s information available, Municipal officials say.
