Man arrested for being intoxicated

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 8:21 a.m. on Friday, a man entered the Chatham-Kent Police headquarters, and began to yell, creating a disturbance.

The man was found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself.

The 48-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and held in custody until sober.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thuirsday, at 11:26 a.m. a member of the Chatham-Kent Police Traffic Unit conducted a traffic stop on Queens Line in Tilbury East Township after the vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and passing numerous vehicles.

Through investigation, the officer learned the driver was driving with a suspended driver’s license, no insurance and without valid plates.

The 58-year-old Tilbury man received five Part III summons for driving under suspension, without insurance, plates not authorized, and speeding.

His vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days, and his plates were seized.

Man arrested for theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 25, 2023, at 2:06 p.m., police responded to the LCBO on Wellington Street West in Chatham for a theft investigation.

The man was observed by employees removing merchandise from the shelves and leaving the store without attempting to pay for the items.

Through video surveillance, police identified the man.

On March 2, 2023, at 5:29 p.m., the man was located by officers on Princess Street South in Chatham and arrested.

The 28-year-old Chatham man was charged with theft and possession of the stolen property.

He was released with a future court date.
