A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Friday, March 10, 2023 across Chatham-Kent and much of Southwestern Ontario.
Environment Canada officials say hazards, include: Snow with total accumulations of 10 to 15 cm and visibility may be reduced at times in snow and local blowing snow.
The timing for the storm is beginning early Friday morning and tapering off Friday evening.
“Widespread snow will push across southwestern Ontario and the Golden Horseshoe on Friday,” forecasters say.
“The morning and evening commute will be affected by this snowfall. Some uncertainty remains in total snowfall amounts. Upgrades to snowfall warnings may be required in some areas. Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.”
