Police: B&E’s, bail violations, intoxicated in public

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Police attended a residence in the Forest Street area in Chatham yesterday responding to a call of a break and enter.

Investigation revealed that several items valued at approximately $4,900 was stolen.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, at approximately 9 p.m., police attended a residence in the William Street area in Chatham responding to a call of a break and enter.

Investigation revealed that a bicycle and liquor were stolen.

Man arrested for bail violations

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at approximately 12 p.m. police attended an address on Joseph Street in Chatham for a bail violation complaint.

A 22-year-old Chatham man was located and was known to be on conditions not to attend this address.

He was arrested for failure to comply with his release conditions.

The man was searched incident to arrest and was found to be in possession of a dagger.

He was arrested and charged with three counts of failure to comply with release order, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and lodged for a bail hearing.

Man arrested for intoxicated in a public place

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 1:47 a.m. on Saturday police responded to a disturbance at a St. Clair Street establishment in Chatham.

Upon arrival police observed a man staggering around the parking lot.

He was intoxicated and unable to care for himself.

The 22-year-old Chatham man was arrested, transported to police headquarters, and lodged until he was sober.
