Ride CK announces new city-to-city transit option

Ride CK with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent is excited to announce that Chatham-Kent residents will soon be able to travel with Megabus between Toronto and Detroit, as the bus company launches its new route on April 5.

Running two trips per day, seven days a week, the service offers daily stops in Chatham, London, and Windsor, Municipal officials say.

Megabus is a low cost, daily express bus service that offers service across Canada and the United States.

This new route comes through a partnership with inter-city travel provider Trailways of New York.

“We are thrilled to be able to work with Megabus to provide increased transit opportunities for the residents of Chatham-Kent,” said Chris Thibert, Director, Engineering for the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, in a media release.

“The addition of this route provides low-cost travel opportunities for our own residents as well as those wishing to visit Chatham-Kent.”

The new service will utilize the Downtown Transfer Terminal, allowing Ride CK users a seamless connection between services while also providing a central pick-up and drop-off location, Municipal officials added.

“Increasing community connectivity is a great catalyst for business,” said Stuart McFadden, Director of Economic Development Services for the Municipality, in a media release.

“Our new partnership with Megabus is a great opportunity for Chatham-Kent, for our local economy, and will certainly help accelerate the growth we’re already experiencing.”

Tickets are now available for purchase at www.megabus.ca.
