Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Management Unit is investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred on Queen’s Line in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 26, 2026.
At approximately 12:06 a.m., emergency services responded to a two-vehicle collision on Queen’s Line between Bloomfield Road and Dillon Road.
The vehicles were operated by a 46-year-old male from Tilbury and a 57-year-old male from Chatham, who were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles. Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Public General Hospital for treatment.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the 57-year-old male was subsequently airlifted to London Health Sciences Centre, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Chatham-Kent Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.
Given the severity of the collision, members of the Traffic Management Unit attended the scene to conduct a detailed investigation and reconstruction of the collision. As a result, Queen’s Line remained closed for several hours overnight and reopened early in the morning.
