Police: Domestic related charges, warrants executed

Man and woman arrested for domestic related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 9, 2023 a man and woman were both arrested on domestic related charges and subsequently released on an Undertaking with conditions not to associate or communicate with
each other.

On May 5, 2023 the man attended the woman’s residence contrary to their release conditions.

At approximately 11 a.m. the woman requested the assistance of a neighbour to help remove the man from her residence, and while attempting to assist, the neighbour was assaulted by the man.

Police arrived on scene a short time later and through investigation formed grounds to arrest the 20-year-old Chatham man for assault, assault causing bodily harm, failing to comply with undertaking (2x) and facilitating a breach.

The 18-year-old Chatham woman was also arrested for failing to comply with undertaking and facilitating a breach.

Both were transported to police headquarters and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 5, 2023 at 8:24 a.m. while conducting general patrol duties, police located a man in the area of Wellington Street West in Chatham believed to be wanted on an outstanding warrant.

A query of the man confirmed him to be subject to multiple warrants for failing to attend court.

The 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested on the strength of these warrants and transported to police headquarters to be held for a bail hearing.

On May 5, 2023 at 9:34 a.m. police located a man in the area of Duncan Street in Wallaceburg known to have an outstanding warrant.

A query of the man confirmed a warrant to be in effect for break and enter and police subsequently arrested him on site.

The 32-year-old Wallaceburg man was ultimately released from police custody a short time later on an Appearance Notice with a future court date.
