Man charged with break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 4, 2023, police responded to a break and enter in Howard Township where several tools were stolen from a garage, on two separate occasions.

Through investigation, police identified the man responsible.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the man, and he was arrested.

The 43-year-old Ridgetown man has been charged with two counts of break and enter and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Suspicious persons call leads to arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 9 p.m. last night, police responded to the report of a suspicious person in the area of a greenhouse in Camden Township.

Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was currently wanted for assault with a weapon causing bodily harm and uttering threats.

The 46-year-old man, of no fixed address, was released pending a future court date of June 12, 2023.

Man charged with weapons offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 10 p.m. last night, police received information that a man, in the area of St. Clair Street in Chatham, may be in possession of a firearm.

Officers flooded the area and located the man in a parking lot, sitting in his car.

Through investigation, police determined that the man was in possession of a BB gun.

The 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was released pending a future court date of June 12, 2023.
