Suspicious vehicle complaint leads to arrest
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, around 11 p.m. police responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a business on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
Officers located the vehicle and through investigation determined that a passenger in the vehicle was wanted on an outstanding warrant for drug possession.
The 42-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released pending a future court date of June 12, 2023.
Man charged with being intoxicated in a public place
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 1 a.m. this morning, police responded to a person welfare check in the parking lot of a residential building on Pine Street in Chatham.
Officers located the man, who was unable to care for himself.
The 31-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for his own safety.
He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and released when sober.
Theft of trailer in Chatham
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime Tuesday night between 8:15 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. unknown suspects stole a red and black dump trailer from a business on National Road.
The trailer was last seen with Ontario license plate R53 98H.
Value of the theft has been estimated at $13,000.

Man charged with failing to comply
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.
Through investigation, officers learned that the man was currently bound by conditions not to communicate with a woman at the residence.
The 20-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.
He was released pending a future court date of June 5, 2023.
Shoplifting leads to arrest
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Real Canadian Superstore on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Through investigation, officers learned that the man had also stolen items from Mark’s Work Warehouse.
The 52-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.
He was also arrested on outstanding warrants. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
